I will copy a few interesting quotes here from different sites: "The ECS appears to be one of the most integral bodily systems for regulating our health and well-being (and many lifeforms before us on the evolutionary spectrum, even nematodes!). [...] Research demonstrates that even small doses of CBD stimulate your body to produce more endocannabinoids, like anandamide and 2-AG, and create new cannabinoid receptors. [...] Two key endocannabinoids are 2-arachidonoylglycerol (2-AG) and anandamide. 2-AG and anandamide are derivatives of the essential omega-6 fatty acid known as arachidonic acid; these endocannabinoids are produced as necessary for producing local healing and restorative effects in target tissues before being deactivated by enzymes. [...] The better options for boosting levels of anandamide is to eat foods containing arachidonic acid, such as meat and eggs, or to supplement with arachidonic acid directly." (From AnxietyHack) "Low levels of omega-6 fats with pyroluria appear to result from a problem with the production of arachidonic acid (AA). This is different from the mechanism behind low vitamin B6 and zinc in high mauve. HPL depletes zinc and B6 by binding to these nutrients, which causes them to be excreted in urine. So it’s not that the omega-6 arachidonic acid is depleted in pyroluria, it’s that its synthesis is inhibited. This block in AA synthesis appears to result from a problem with delta-6-desaturase, the enzyme which converts the omega-6 precursor linoleic acid into gamma-linoleic acid (GLA), which is then converted into AA. This same enzyme is also required for the synthesis of omega-3 fatty acids, so both omega-3 and -6 PUFA synthesis may be inhibited, but it appears that with high mauve, it’s more common for just the omega-6 eicosanoids to be affected. [...] Both zinc and B6 are cofactors required for the proper function of delta-6-desaturase (6) (7). Reduced omega-6 fatty acid levels may therefore be a secondary deficiency resulting from low zinc and B6. [...] Chronic viral infections may also decrease D6D activity in both the omega-3 and omega-6 pathways." (From LivingLoveCommunity) Same old question, what was first? Does Pyroluria increase toxicity by inhibiting the endocannabinoid system and lack of nutrients, or is Pyroluria a symptom of mercury toxicity since mercury inhibits lots of enzymes and is a neurotoxin in the first place. I have heard of people who reversed their pyroluria by detoxing the heavy metals. Few videos about the connection of the endocannabinoid system and autism: Apparently CBD Oil can be a good treatment for autism:
"The study was led by the director of pediatric neurology at Jerusalem’s Shaare Zedek Hospital, Dr. Adi Aran, who treated the 60 children with a high-CBD cannabis oil (20% CBD and 1% THC). The children were treated for at least seven months with the oil. After the treatment period, parents answered assessment questionnaires to characterize their child’s condition. Questions were asked about behavioral changes, anxiety levels and ability to communicate. Here’s what they reported:

Family Constellation Since that family constellation I am having lots of dreams with my mum, and nice ones. Where she is normal, healthy, cleaning out her house. I was cutting her hair in my dream last night and complimented her on how good it looked. 2 days after my session I had called her (it had been 3,5 months since my last call) and we chatted for an hour! She was in a good mood really and asked about my life. Seriously one of the best talks I had with her over the past years (decade?). Even though everything was pretty profane but it had been so different to our usual phone calls. Pyroluria Treatment I am still taking moderate doses of the zinc and P5P, especially since I started reading about the copper connection. I am still waiting for my copper supplement to arrive. Something makes me wonder if copper deficiency could actually be the cause of Pyroluria. And the body is eliminating the zinc to keep the ratio more normal. Same with the potassium/sodium ratio, when the body is salt wasting because the potassium levels are so low. It all comes down to nutritional balancing really, doesn't it. Potassium and copper rich diets are mainly plant based diets. I think that is where many vegans are right. But why go all the way vegan? Plant based with a bit of animal products seems the best diet. Anyway. Did I see improvements? I still have very little appetite, which might be because a) I kinda eat very low carb at the moment (I don't really know why) or b) because my zinc gets lower despite taking zinc supplements in high doses because that can actually deplete zinc. What? Yes, because apparently the zinc is used to produce more metallothionein. Metallothionein (MT) dysfunction might be a primary cause for autism. MT proteins are chains of amino acids in the brain, skin and GI tract. They are important for:
So once you start supplementing zinc in high doses, the MT function gets increased and eliminates the high copper levels in the body, but at the same time it is also taking zinc with it (since it is made of 7 atoms of zinc). So maybe a reason why many people supplement with zinc but cannot raise their levels substantially. And this is where I came across this lady: In her case, she took many months high doses of zinc but couldn't really raise her levels. Until she started taking copper. So maybe she lowered her copper levels with those high doses of zinc but to me it just shows that the balance is so important, and why I don't like taking single nutrients. The usual statement for Pyroluria is that it causes copper toxicity, and that zinc and B6 bring it down. But you can be copper toxic and deficient at the same time! Probably similar to the B6 (I had sky high levels of B6 in my blood which just shows that my body couldn't really use it). What is needed to use copper and make it bioavailable? Ceruloplasmin, which requires certain nutrients, and also: copper. This is where Mitosynergy comes into play who claim that they produced the world's first bioavailable copper. Now the lady above used a simple amino acid chelated copper. People in India drink out of copper vessels to improve their health. Apparently the soils are so depleted that many people actually are copper deficient! So you guessed what I did. I ordered the MItosynergy (a sample first because it is bloody expensive) but also after more research, I ordered a simple chelated copper supplement as well as liquid chlorophyll which seems to be the most natural route to get in copper. So maybe if you get enough copper, you don't get easily deficient in zinc because it helps your body absorbing it better. It basically all comes down to eating a whole food nutrient rich diet high in greens (high in copper and zinc), or organ meats (also high in copper and zinc). So far I didn't see many other improvements of my Pyroluria supplements. Some days my scalp is less itchy, but actually for a while my nail beds got pretty worse. So I seem to be still very deficient in zinc. Oregano Oil for Candida Cleanse Another thing I started is taking Oregano Oil again, to reduce the Candida (and whatever parasites I might have). Geez, the first days my Candida was not happy. I got a massive thrush and expelled a lot of stuff (sorry TMI?). I also got bloated like 9 months pregnant. But I know, this is from the die-off. Dying parasites produce a lot of air. Die, buggas, die!! I rub my belly with peppermint essential oil and that often helps a bit. It is day 4 or 5 now and I am still bloated but I will give it 60 days. I am taking the extra strength Zane Hellas oregano oil. I stopped taking the Saccaharomyces Boulardii after 2 days only because it made me feel more yeasty. But I guess that might have been just a cleansing reaction too. So for now I stick to my good old oregano oil because that is a good anti-everything (bacteria, yeast, viruses). I really need to up my probiotic game though. I used to eat sauerkraut regularly but stopped. It is so important to get probiotics in daily. I also make my own kombucha but it's not fermenting too well (maybe it had been too cold still). I let it sit for a month and it gets quite sour but it still tastes a bit sweet too. Maybe I should switch to kefir again, that worked better. Yesterday was the first day in quite a while that I felt mentally a bit better and motivated. (Candida btw is closely related to copper imbalance. Copper is antifungal. Did I mention I am looking forward to trying my copper supplements!?). Other than that I had taken a couple of days off the iodine and selenium but now I am back on thyroid support, with my Raw Thyroid supplement. I also want to go back to doing yoga. I feel the gym and the weight lifting might not be beneficial for balancing female/male hormones. I found a beautiful channel about PCOS the other day: Although it is quite hard sometimes for me to listen to her, I think she has an important message. I should cultivate more my feminine energies.
What diet is she promoting? Fruit, vegan, Dr. Morse style. A couple of months ago it dawned on me. My libido was gone.
Now this is a big deal for me. I always had a crazy big libido. Three times a day, yes please. It seemed to have been the only good thing about this messed up body at times. Now looking back there was probably even a messed up reason for this super high sex drive. Guess I lived in overdrive for a long time. It might be connected to methylation (it is said undermethylators have a high libido. From the rest of the symptoms for undermethylation I fit quite well too. So does a reduced libido now mean I am not an undermethlyator anymore? Or does it mean I exhausted my adrenals - probably the latter). When did it start? About 1,5 years ago my libido was still high I would say. Then I left for a 6 months journey travelling the world (and as much as not working and just travelling and seeing beaches etc sounds like super relaxing, it is actually quite a lot of stress you put on your body. Not too many healthy meals, many flights, time differences... for somebody like me who is prone to stressing out and anxiety, this was a big challenge. Glad I did it though!). During my travels I had already really low sex drive but I put that down to the stress. But then I came back and it kinda continued. Although the first weeks I was back it actually got sky high again. Maybe because I didn't have sex in so long and the first weeks I stayed with my good friend, with whom I had shared the bed for some time already. We got a real strong sexual connection, so at first all was good. But then it got less and less. We still had sex and I still enjoyed it very much, but I wasn't really horny in between. I could take it or leave it. Which might actually be a good thing! I hear guys saying it was such a relief for them when they entered their 50's and weren't ruled anymore by their dick. But I was only 36 and I must say I missed being randy. Is it an age thing? Lately as I have been exploring Pyroluria again etc I got the hope that it is just a massive zinc deficiency. I realised I have white spots on my nails again which is a big indicator zinc deficiency. I hadn't supplemented much zinc, and let's face I didn't eat much red meat. Stress massively depletes magnesium AND zinc, and while I always supplemented magnesium (which probably is a reason why my anxiety levels are so low these days), I had kinda neglected the zinc. So I started taking zinc and pretty quickly ramped it up to 50 mg. Oh dear, massive copper dumping came my way, with crazy headaches, sleep paralysis and nightmares and just an overall feeling of losing my marbles. Sweet. I backed down with the zinc and sloooowly started again. This has been a few weeks now. Libido still pretty much zero. Reaching an orgasm takes forever. I know, this is an issue for many women actually, and I believe that many people are heavily zinc deficient. Just looking at a bodybuilding online forum and see how many of those guys supplement with zinc and say it makes them better men! Stress depletes zinc, exercising like lifting heavy weights depletes zinc, infections deplete zinc - I came to the conclusion that everybody probably needs zinc and magnesium in their lives. Thanks to my love for sex I dove deep into research again, and via Zinc and Pyroluria I also came across Mitosynergy and how copper toxic people are also most likely deficient in copper. Actually some numbers say about 80 % of the population are deficient in copper (the bioavailable that is) because our soils are depleted, and really who is eating enough leafy green vegetables. Plus, if your liver and adrenals are tanked, your body has difficulties producing ceruloplasmin, the protein-carrier that makes copper bioavailable. So if your body cannot use the copper you are taking in, it stores it as toxic copper, and that causes a host of issues. Women are especially prone to copper toxicity due to higher estrogen levels. Add to that IUD (copper spirals for contraception), you have a recipe for disaster. Anxiety, paranoia, hormonal imbalances. So Mitosynergy claims to be the first bioavailable copper that goes directly into the cells. I looked it up and it sounds legit so - obviously - I ordered me a sample. It is bloody expensive (as with most things that work) but whatever it takes. So I am kinda grateful for losing my libido as it brought back my awareness to the imbalances in my body. Adrenals of course are a big part of the journey too. I think I massively tanked them because when I came back from my world travels I started the Iodine Protocol (more about that in a different post) which is really hard on the adrenals. That was also when I gained a ridiculous amount of belly fat, and had crazy energy crashes. It's all about balance. The puzzle continues. Oh, and don't get me started on how Maca has increased your libido like crazy, blah blah. Yeah. No. Didn't do it for me, which just shows how deep I seem to be in the shit, haha. I still take it regularly for supporting my adrenals though, plus many other adaptogens. |
