Most people think Detox means a week long juice fast, or a month of no sugar, and many people actually believe we don't need to "detox" at all because our liver and kidneys are doing it constantly for us. Well, neither of it is true. We DO need additional detox. Our world has become increasingly toxic. The air we inhale, the food we eat, the water we drink. Heavy metals, pesticides, herbicides, plastic, food additives are all accumulating in our body more rapidly than we can excrete them. And many people have already impaired detox pathways. We need to support our detox organs, and we need to reduce and avoid toxic exposure as much as we can. And unfortunately for most people this is not done in a week long juice fast, sometimes not even in a 30 day water fast, although these modalities can already bring great healing. (Please only fast under medical supervision). Studies show that it takes years and years to get rid of lead or mercury in the body, even with great detox modalities.
Detox has to become a part of daily life. And you will not want to go back anyway once you get a glimpse of how good you can feel.
This is a short overview of what detox means and how to take proper care of your body. I will put up a detailed online course soon!
Avoid/remove toxic exposure
If your toxic load constantly gets a refill, you are just wasting your time and money with detoxing. It is hard or rather impossible to avoid all toxicity these days as even the air we breathe is often contaminated but avoid and/or remove the obvious ones (which I will list in my Online Course)
Gut Health
A big one. The gut is the first thing that should be targeted. Do you know anyone with digestion of steel? It's getting rarer and rarer these days. Food allergies and intolerances are ever growing. Crohn's, IBS, Celiac Disease... the digestive system is having a hard time these days with copious amounts of junk food that not only gives zero nutrition but often contains several gut irritating chemicals. Healing the gut takes time and dedication but is an important piece of the puzzle to heal. It is our second brain, and we know by now how much the gut flora influences our mental health
Diet & Hydration
Is there the one diet that works for all? Vegan, Vegetarian, Raw vegan, carnivore, Paleo, ketogenic, GAPS, Wahl's Protocol, FODMAPS, pescitarian, lectin avoidance.... Diet is absolute crucial for healing but it is a very individual tool. Generally, if you eat real foods (that only have one ingredient), then you are already a big step ahead on the health journey. Hydration and drinking the right water is equally if not more important. Spring water is the best in my opinion but of course sometimes hard to find where you live.
Detox pathways
Support your elimination pathways, the colon, liver, kidneys, lungs and skin.
Glands
Thyroid, adrenals, pituary and pineal gland, they all suffer massively from toxicity because most toxins are fat soluble and settle in the glands. This leads to hormonal imbalances, a massive issue these days.
Chelation/Heavy Metal Detox
Unfortunately our bodies are having a real hard time excreting heavy metals by themselves.
Mindset/Spiritual work
Detox is not only physical. During detox you will release old trauma, but it is also important to work on trauma to release toxins.
